Judy's Logic Problems

February's Young People's LP#1 - Be My Valentine

It was Valentine’s Day and love was in the air. Philip and three other young men each presented his girlfriend with the traditional box of chocolates, but each also presented his Valentine with another special gift (one young lady received a stuffed teddy bear). From the clues, can you determine each young man’s name, his sweethearts name (one is Julie), and the gift each gave his sweetheart along with the chocolates?

1. The four young men are Tory, the man whose girlfriend is Kathleen, the man whose girlfriend is Darla, and the man who gave his girlfriend a beautiful hand-knitted sweater.

2. Andrew, whose girlfriend is not Kathleen, isn’t the one whose box of chocolates was accompanied by either a dozen red roses or a sweater.

3. Tory’s girlfriend is not Marcy nor did he give his girlfriend a friendship ring for Valentine’s Day.

4. Roger is not the one who gave his girlfriend a sweater.

5. Darla isn’t the one who received the friendship ring from her fellow.
