I was born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas, except for about five years when I was very young and we lived in California and Washington. We moved back to Hutchinson in when I was in the third grade and I have been here ever since. :-)

I have two sisters (Patty and Nancy), a brother (Bob who passed away April 15, 20 at the age of 56 ) after a very long illness, their spouses, 11 nieces and nephews (and their spouses) , and a whole slug of great-nieces and great-nephews (so many I can't keep track; and I have ONE great grandson named Jordan who was 3 in August, and now and another great- ??? on the way; don't yet know if it a boy or girl. Hey, so I am just going on 61 but what the heck, grandkids are great and GREAT-grandkids are extra special for some reason!

Ours is a close-knit family and we keep in touch often. Patty and Bobs' widow (Susan) both live here in Hutchinson and Nancy lives in Missouri just 4 hours away.

My own immediate family includes my daughter, Doris and son, James. Doris has three children - Kerri (22), Vanessa (19), and Bud (17 in Jan. 2006). Kerri graduated High School in 2001 eventually married her significant other, Ryan, and have a son (my first great-grandchild!), Jordon Ryan (born Aug. 13, 2003). Unfortunately their marriage didn't last. Vanessa and her SO are due in about 5 1/2 months but don't know the sex yet ... think they want to be surprised! James has two girls - Emily (14 in Dec. 2006 ) and Elizabeth (14 in Oct 11, 2006 ) and they live here in Hutchinson. I haven't updated pics in a while but you can go to the button Photos and see some fairly recent pics of my kids, grandkids (and great) and pets - Lacey (calico), Mac (white), and Honey (black and gold brindle) and Scooter Bunny (who has gone over the Rainbow Bridge). Weighed them the other day and Lacey is in at 17 lbs; Mac at 15, and Honey at 12. Guess house cats are tons bigger than outside cats???? :-)

Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, and I especially love mysteries - mostly the who-dun-it type, but other types of mysteries as well. Some of my favorite authors include Rex Stout, Agatha Christie, J.P. Morgan, Martha Grimes, Jonathan Kellerman, Mary Higgins Clark, Robin Cook, and Patricia Cornwell, John Saul, and Dean Koontz; just to name a few. Also the Bible as some people don't realize just how interesting it is but don't knock it if you haven't tried it. :-)

Some of my other interests include gardening, crafts, genealogy, and getting together with friends and family for a night of playing games and exchanging news. Love to go out for lunch or supper with my closest friends, Julie. Her dog, Baron, who is a Newfoundland...... a really big black dog, is my God-Puppy. hahah

When possible, I enjoy being outdoors, enjoying nature and watching birds come to the birdfeeder or birdbath, or visiting nature centers or botonical gardens. Zoos are a favorite place to visit when time allows. Have the same two cardinals who have been here for years. They mate for life and this pair usually have 2 nests a year with usually one, but occassional two chicklings.

Since I got on the Internet, I haven't engaged in a lot of TV watching, but when I do, my favorite channels include A&E, The Learning Channel, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, and for some reason, the Food Channel!!! LOL Well, heck, watching it makes me hungry and I eat more. In July 2005 I weighed 77 and now I weigh 107, which is about what I weighed in high school. I've always had a fascination with the universe and life in the oceans. As an animal lover, I also love to watch the Animal Planet channel (and so does my white male cat, Mac who is crazy about that channel and will watch it for hours.

I love earth colors, country decor, and good home cooking. In school, I enjoyed all subjects and was one of those rare people who liked to take tests. In 1964 I graduated from Hutchinson High School, but didn't go to college then, but rather started a family. However, in 1990 I attended Hutchinson Community College and in 1992 graduated with my Associate of Arts Degree with a 4.0 average and was nominated and accepted for Who's Who in American Junior Colleges.

As mentioned, I have three cats who share my home, and for two and a half years a bunny, who since has passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Over the years, we have shared our home with many, many cats and several dogs, and even birds (both parakeets and cockatiels). Each one has left their imprint on our lives in one way or another and are greatly missed.

Well, so much for me. I do hope you enjoy this site and working the logic problems I post every month. When I make changes to the site, I always hope it is an improvement. However, I welcome any comments about the site and anything that you - as the visitor - may like or find useful. If possible, I will try to do what I can.
