The year, Col. Mustard and the other five clue suspects spent their holidays in a different country (three spent their holidays in Europe in Austria, Norway, and Scotland, in some order; one in Argentina, one in New Zealand, and one in South Africa). While on holiday, each happened to run into a famous movie star, one of whom was Meg Ryan. Each suspect, being a fan of the particular star with whom he or she met, desperately wanted an autograph, but not having a piece of nice paper handy, each got the star’s autograph on a different item - in an address book, on the flap of an envelope, on the back of a losing lottery ticket, on a napkin, a shirt sleeve, and even on a white hat one was wearing!
From the clues, determine the country where each suspect spent his or her holiday, the star each encountered, and where each star wrote his or her autograph. NOTE: in this problem, an actor refers to a male star and an actress to a female star.
1. Mrs. Peacock didn’t get an got an autograph on his or her napkin while dining in a restaurant.
2. Julia Roberts was visiting in Norway and was very gracious when asked for her autograph.
3. Prof. Plum, who vacationed in Europe, is not the suspect who got an autograph on the back of an old losing lottery ticket which somehow had not made it into the trash.
4. Brad Pitt is the movie star who signed one of the suspect’s white hat.
5. The suspect who visited New Zealand (who wasn’t Mrs. White) was thrilled when Harrison Ford signed his or napkin.
6. The suspect visiting Scotland over the holidays went home to the States with an autograph of Tom Selleck.
7. Miss Scarlet had an nice visit with the actor she met who signed the flap on an old envelope.
8. The suspect who visited Austria (who wasn’t Mrs. White) ended up with the autograph of one of the actresses in her address book.
9. Mr. Green, who spent his holidays in either Argentina or New Zealand, was bowled over when he got Melanie Griffin’s autograph.

Recently, Everett invited some family members over to join he and his wife, Sharon, for a night of playing Clue. The guests including Everett’s sister Donna and Donna’s husband, Jerry; his brother Norman and Norman’s wife, Sue; and his brother John and John’s wife, Lori. They played three games of Clue, and during each game exactly four family members played, although during each game the combination of players was different.
From the clues, determine which family members played during each of the three games, identified simply as Game One, Game Two, or Game Three in the table below.
1. Exactly one family member played all three games and exactly one family member sat out all three games.
2. Jerry and John never played an game of Clue at the same time.
3. During one game Everett, John, Lori, and Sharon either all four played, or all four sat out while the other four family members played.
4. Norman didn’t play during Game One, and Donna didn’t play during Game Two.
5. Sharon played during Game Three. Lori played as many games as Sharon sat out.
6. Jerry played during Game One, and among the other players during that game, either Donna and Norman both played or they both sat out.
7. Everett and Norman either both played Game Two or they sat out ; if they played Game Two, then John and Sue also played.
8. Sharon and Jerry either both played during Game Two or they sat out during that game.
9. No two family members with the same first initial played during Game One.

Note: I found by making an X for no and using a dot for yes for the games played helped me keep track better when solving this. Also the asterick by a few names means nothing but helps fill in spaces to make the square to make the X or dot larger. :-)

Each year, car makers come out with new models of cars along with improvements on old models. There are so many models of the different makes of cars it nearly boggles the mind! Recently, Stefano’s nephew, who works in sales of one of the top car dealers in the country was showing Stefano some of some of the new models for 2005 - a preview you might say, seeing as they aren’t really available for sale to the public quite yet so are in a special showroom. The new models include the Constellation, the Neptune, the Panther, the Scorpion, and the Titan. The car dealership deals with the following makes of cars: Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Mercury, and Pontiac.
Each car in the show room is a different color (one is blue) and has a different option installed, although one can get any combination of options in all the models. From the clues, determine the make and model of each car Stefano looked at, the color of each car, and the option available on each car. NOTE: Any name of a model used in this problem which might, in fact, be a real model of a make of car, is purely coincidental.
1. The Pontiac (which is neither the black nor the white car) isn’t the one which has the luggage rack on top of the car, which Stefano liked as he travels quite a bit.
2. The model called the Constellation, which isn’t the red car, isn’t the one with the CD player or the power seats.
3. The Ford, the Scorpion, and the black car are in some order, the cars with the following options: cruise control, rear window defroster, or CD player.
4. The Titan (which isn’t the car with the cruise control or the power seats) isn’t the red car.
5. The Panther, which is either the Dodge or the Chevy, isn’t the car black car.
6. Neither the silver car nor the red car (which isn’t the Chevy) is the car with the power seats.
7. Three of the cars were the Mercury (which doesn’t have the CD player), the Scorpion, and the Constellation.
8. The white car isn’t the one which had the luggage racks or the power seats.
9. The Ford, whose model isn’t the Panther, isn’t the white car.
