On Saturday mornings, local farmers have an open farmer’s market downtown where they bring fresh items from their gardens, as well as some craft items. Last week, during the town’s week long JulyFest, the market was open every day and on each day (Monday through Friday) one of five of our Clue suspects dropped by the farmer’s market (Prof. Plum was away on an archaeological dig). Each purchased a different craft item, a different fruit item, and a different vegetable item. From the clues, can you determine the day during the week each individual stopped by the Farmer’s Market stalls and the three items that each purchased.
1. The person who purchased bell peppers did so sometime before another person purchased a bird house (but not on Friday).
2. It wasn’t Miss Scarlet who bought some fresh-picked oranges.
3. Four of the five Clue suspects are Col. Mustard, Mr. Green, the suspect who purchased green beans, and the suspect who purchased the oranges.
4. The person who bought a beautiful embroidered table cloth (who didn’t also buy strawberries) did so earlier in the week than the person who purchased the intricately woven bread basket.
5. Mr. Green and the person who purchased the onions are, in some order, the person who visited the Farmer’s Market on Thursday and the person who went the day after the person who purchased the apricots.
6. Four of the five Clues suspects are Mrs. White, the one who bought some sweet corn-on-the-cob, the suspect who bought apricots, and the person who bought a wreath made by wheat weaving.
7. Col. Mustard visited the Farmer’s Market at least two days earlier in the week than the person who purchased some delicious fresh pears.
8. Mrs. Peacock purchased some dainty tatted doilies on the day she visited the Farmer’s Market.
9. Four of the five Clue suspects are Miss Scarlet, the suspect who purchased some tomatoes, the suspect who purchased some apples, and the suspect who purchased the wheat-woven wreath.
10. On one day, one of the suspects purchased some strawberries, but this wasn’t the same suspect who purchased either bell peppers or onions.
11. It wasn’t on Tuesday that one of the suspects purchased green beans.

Last night Everett and his family tuned in to watch an evening of ice skating on TV. That evening's TV Special featured five new couples to the ice skating scene, and so the family thought it would be fun to rate each pair. Each grabbed a sheet of legal pad paper and it happened that there was four pads of legal paper on the office desk, each in a different color - blue, green, pink, and yellow. Each family member (including Everett, Everett’s wife Sharon, his daughter Megan, and his son Shane) chose a different color of paper to keep score on. They decided on a point system with 5 the lowest and 10 the highest.
From the clues, determine the color of paper each person kept score on and the score each gave to each of the five performing couples, as well as each couple’s total score at the end of the evening. The five ice skating couples are Chloe and Kevin, Ginger and Harlan, Melissa and Scott, Natasha and Rafael, and Pilar and Quinn.
1. The five skating couples are Chloe and Kevin, the couple who got a 9 rating from Megan, the couple who got a 5 rating from the family member who used the pink legal pad paper for scoring, the couple whom Everett fave 6 points, and the couple who placed 2nd at the end of the evening when the family members tallied their votes.
2. No family member gave any two couples the same rating and each couple received a different number of points from each family member, although no couple received 10 points. At the end of the evening, each couple had received a different number of points.
3. The four family members are Shane, the person who used a piece of blue paper to keep score on, the person who gave Pilar and Quinn 6 points and the person who gave Natasha and Rafael 8 points.
4. The family member who used the green legal pad paper gave Ginger and Harlan more points than did Sharon, but not as many points as did Shane, who didn’t give them 8 points.
5. Melissa and Scott received at 5 by either the person who used the blue legal paper or the green legal paper for scoring.
6. The person who used the pink legal pad paper for scoring gave Chloe and Kevin 9 points.
7. Megan gave either Pilar and Quinn or Ginger and Harlan a total of 6 points.
8. Sharon (who didn’t use blue paper for scoring) thought that Chloe and Kevin did much better than Melissa and Scott and rated them accordingly with more points.
9. Everett gave either Pilar and Quinn or Natasha and Rafael 5 points, but Melissa & Scott didn’t receive 9 points from Everett.
10. Shane gave 5 points to the same couple that Everett gave 6 points to.

Note: For some reason, when doing the table, it didn't want to bold the lines around the last square, but I think it shows up enough that it will print okay. All my html seems okay, so don't know why. Sorry about this. :-)
