Beginning this month, two puzzles will appear. Each month there will be both a ClueJo Logic Problem and an Everett Kaser Logic Problem. Be sure to visit my Home page to find out more about Everett Kaser and his popular logic type games.
Recently, Inspector Black summoned five suspects to Scotland Yard to help with his "inquires" into the recent demise of Mr. Boddy. The five suspects - Col. Mustard, Mr. Green, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. White, and Prof. Plum, had all been fingered by Mrs. Peacock (who had already been put through the ringer and hardly knew what she was saying). Of course, each suspect had guilty knowledge of the crime in one way or another. In order to confuse the investigation until they could make good their escape, each suspect arrived at Scotland Yard disguised as one of the other four suspects. The question is, who was disguised as Miss Scarlet?
1. Prof. Plum, disguised as the dashing Mr. Green, was the first to be interrogated.
2. Col. Mustard, who was not the suspect impersonating Prof. Plum, was summoned next.
3. The suspect who was disguised as Prof. Plum was, in turn, impersonated by the suspect who was impersonated by Miss Scarlet.
4. Inspector Black was so frustrated by the time he finished interrogating all five suspects that he decided that all five should be held for further questioning, thus foiling their plans for a quick get-away.

>Note: This puzzle is worked easier by simply using a piece of scratch paper as it does not solve well with a table or grid.
Avid slot car racing enthusiasts, several of Steve's friends enjoy spending an occasional Saturday evening in his basement racing on his new 1/32 Road Course. Steve's layout is two lanes with a lap length of 43 feet, and the average lap time for a current 1/32 slot car (which are about 5" in length) runs in the 5 to 7 second range. This past Saturday night five friends - Everett, Fritz, Anne, Barbara, and Carol, arrived with their favorite slot car, each of which is a different color (black, blue, green, red, silver, or white) and each had decorated his or her slot car with colorful decals, including one with his or her favorite number (11, 15, 30, 34, 45, or 51).
Before getting down to some serious racing, the drivers decided to warm up by running one lap around the course, with two cars running a warm-up lap at one time. Can you determine the name of the driver, the color and make (either Chevy, Ford, or Pontiac) of each slot car, and the number of seconds it took each car to run the warm-up laps (5, 6, or 7 seconds).
Note: the owner of each car is in charge of the controller, which regulates the car's speed, and is known in slot car circles as the driver.
1. Everett and the driver of the slot car whose favorite number is 15 were pitted against one another during one warm-up lap; the driver of the blue car and the driver who finished the lap in 6 seconds were pitted against one another during a second warm-up lap, and Anne and the driver of the red Ford were pitted against one another during a third warm-up lap.
2. Both of the Ford drivers completed their lap in fewer seconds than either of the Pontiac drivers (neither of whom has a decal with the number 45 on their slot cars).
3. During one warm-up lap (whose drivers were the owner of a Pontiac and the owner of the white slot car), the difference in the numbers on their slot car's decals is the same as the number on the black slot car.
4. During one warm-up lap the driver of the green car finished in a record 5 seconds, while the driver of a Pontiac with the number 11 decal finished two seconds later.
5. Exactly two slot cars completed their warm-up laps in 5 seconds, two in 6 seconds, and two in 7 seconds, and between the two cars pitted against one another in each lap, there were no ties. Steve, Carol, and Fritz all completed their laps in a different number of seconds.
6. No two cars of the same make raced against one another during the warm-up lap. The drivers of the two Chevies were Fritz and the girl whose favorite number is 30 (who finished her lap in less time than the owner of the white car).
7. The number on the decal of Barbara's slot car (which is not the green car) has a least one digit in common with both the numbers on the decals of both Steve's car and the black car.
