At a recent get-together at Dr. Grey's house, he and five of his friends engaged in their favorite game, Clue. Each selected a playing piece (blue, green, purple, red, yellow, or white) and each brought a different type of nut to snack on (which was either in a can or in a package) as well as a different type of candy. These last two were at the request of their host, Dr. Grey, who furnished the drinks and also provided one type of nut (one was cashews) and one type of candy sweet (one was some Jolly Ranchers).
Your job, should you accept it, will be to find out the color of each player's token and the type of nut and candy each brought for the get-together.
1. The person who brought the pistachio nuts isn't the one who brought the mints.
2. The man who brought the walnuts is neither Inspector Black nor the man who selected the green token as his playing piece.
3. Miss Lavender is neither the woman who chose the blue token as her playing piece nor the woman who brought the pistachios.
4. The woman who played with the purple playing piece brought nuts which came in a package; two types of nuts which came in a package were macadamia nuts and the nuts brought by the person who brought the lemon drops, neither of whom played with the purple token.
5. Two people who brought nuts which came in a can were the person who brought the peanuts (and who did not use the white playing piece) and the one who brought the mints, neither of whom was Sir Sable.
6. Sir Sable (who did not bring the peanut brittle) is the only man to bring nuts that came in a can. The nuts brought by Lady Melon also came in a can.
7. The can of almonds was brought by one of the men, and the butterscotch candies by one of the women, which was neither Mrs. Bluebell nor the one who used the blue token.
8. The man whose chose the red playing token brought the caramels.

Everett and four of his friends had occasion to spend a day (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday, in that order) out on the Wannakissame River. Each man went on a different day last week and each was accompanied by his girl friend - for whom each had an affectionate nickname. No two couples went out on the lake in the same type of water craft (one of which was a pontoon). From the clues, determine the day each couple visited the lake and the type of water craft each took out on the lake.
1. Cookie and her boyfriend didn't go to the lake on Sunday, but went to the lake exactly three days before Reg and his girl (who isn't the girl nicknamed Freckles).
2. Thomas, who wasn't the one who took his gal sailboating, was surprised to see the lake was not too crowded that Saturday.
3. Daffodil and her favorite beau spent the day at the lake exactly one day after the couple who spend the afternoon motorboating.
4. Valery and his gal were blessed with a warm windless day on the lake sometime after the couple who enjoyed their first time canoeing and exactly one day before one gent and his companion who had a wonderful time on their catamaran.
5. Peaches and her boyfriend visited the lake at some point after Kitten and her boyfriend.
6. Erik (whose girlfriend is not nicknamed Daffodil) is either the guy who took his girl to the lake on Tuesday or the guy who took his girl out on the catamaran (whose girlfriend is not nicknamed Freckles).
