Update February, 2007

After my first bout with Cancer in throat, I went thru chemo and radiation for 8 months and then went into emission. This was early 2004. Then I had a recurrance of the cancer around the middle of 2005 (which they said that type of cancer was the easest to cure but failed to say that the recurrance was very high..... and they found I had a tumor on my vocal cords. I went into the hospital July 1st , 2005, as I only weighed 77 lbs and they needed me to gain weight before doing a trachea and biopsy. It depended on a lot of things on whether they would have to take the vocal cords or not but it turned out that the tumor was malignant. So on July 11th I had surgery (a 4 hour surgery ended up taking over 7 hours - whew glad I was asleep!) and now have a feeding tube in my side and a hole in my neck from which I breath. Thankfully I can eat regular food now so feeding tube will be coming out. Weird not to be able to talk at all; but with the help of so many organizations and services that have helpled, I have an artificial laraynx I'm learning to use and a TTY machine for commication on the phone. Also you'd be surprised how many people can read lips if one talks slow. That is a great advantage!

Also, ones body changes; like when I sneeze, it is thru my trachae, but it is my nose that itches and feels the sneeze coming on. I also can not choke at all; but can drown in a very short time. I can't whistle but can go Tsk-tsk-tsk to call my cats. I speak, but like in a VERY low whisper and certain letters are more pronounable like P, B, K, C, J, Q (sometimes) but others not and which my speech therapist said is perfectly normal.

Since 3 months ago.....end of October, I am now again in remission but the side effects are taking a while to subside, but my Drs assure me they will.

Have received tons of emails wanting to know how all is so thought I'd best update you. Hopefully I'll be back to posting problems again, but any who are teachers, educatiors, etc., use what you want. However, if you have a weekly. monthly. etc news letter, magazine, etc. you MUST write and get persmission as this is copy writed material. And thans so much for standing me! Love ya all!

** At the top of this page, in the menu section, is a link to Logic Problem Grids. I provide a table or illustration for all the puzzles, but usually don't provide a grid as they must be made as graphics and take up much more space than a table, which is really just a series of html commands. Therefore, for those who prefer to use grids as opposed to tables, you can find several different sized grids in that section - one of them should be the one you need. All you need to do is print out the one you need. One can also make grids on simple grid paper found in any store and just mark off the number of spaces needed.

Except for the Einstein puzzle and those contributed by visitors, all the logic problems on this site are copywrited © 2000 - Present date by Judith Spence. If you would like to use one or more as an example on your site, for educational purposes in or out of the classroom, or for any other reason (such as magazines, etc.), contact me first at spencejk@prodigy.net or through the Talk To Me link with details and more than likely I shall grant permission. I do like to have my name in lights! :-) For puzzles by contributors contact them if they have given an email address.
