BlackJack/Porkies Ski Trip

February 3 rd and 4th 2001

Come ski downhill on the natural snow with views of Lake Superior at Porcupine State Park on Saturday, and ski Sunday at BlackJack near Bessemer, MI. Excellent cross country skiing trails are available at the Porkies; ski rental/passes are extra and are not included in trip cost. This trip is a joint trip with the Slope Slurpers Ski Club in Eau Claire. Signup early to hold your spot on this popular trip. Last year's highlight was the great snow conditions at the Porkies —— skiing on natural, powder-like snow.

BUS INFO:

The bus loading begins at 5:00 pm Friday, February 2nd in the Memorial High School lot by Rocky's Pizza . Bus departs at 5:30 pm sharp. There will be a fast food pit stop (on your own) at Abbotsford. The bus trip home includes a food stop in Ladysmith. We should be back to Eau Claire by about 10 pm Sunday evening. Beer and soda will be available for a small fee on the bus.

LODGING and MEALS:

Friday and Saturday nights lodging is at the BlackJack Ski Resort condos in Bessemer, MI. These are slopeside condos with a shared hot tub! Trip fee includes two nights lodging, Saturday breakfast, Saturday evening buffet dinner, tax, tip). Condos sleep 6 people, have 2 bedrooms- 1 for double occupancy and 1 with quad occupancy. Charges are based on 6 people to a condo, but the bedrooms for 2 are available on a first come basis for an additional $15.00 per person. Both days lift tickets are included in rates below:

2 days Downhill: $215.00 quad occupancy

2 days Downhill: $230.00 double occupancy

$ 30.00 non-refundable deposit holds your spot for this trip. See the Redeye newsletter for trip cancellation policies. Total of trip fees is due by January meeting. Room requests are appreciated, however, trip chairs will have final say in room assignments if necessary.

As of now we have made a commitment of 20 slots for this trip. You need to get signed up and paid as soon as possible to insure our slots.
