John Miller, Pvt., Co. A, 6th USCT Infantry was in the same unit as Lewis J. Henson and served in many battles in Virginia from October 1863 through September 1865 (see above section for Lewis Henson).   He enrolled July 27, 1863 at Philadelphia, Pa. at age 20.  He was 5' 11" tall and was listed with black eyes, black hair, black complexion and was a farmer.   His Military File contains many charges for supplies: 1 wiper 20¢, 1/2 Shelter tent and 1 haversack $2.45, 1 canteen 41¢, 1 screwdriver 23¢, 1 canteen 65¢ and 1 knapsack $3.10.  In July-August 1864 he had Extra Duty on Butler's Canal at Dutch Gap, Virginia.  In February 1865 he was sick in "G" Hospital.
