MYASTHENIA GRAVIS LINKS

Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disease affecting the neuromuscular junction and producing weakness of voluntary muscles. It is a chronic disease deriving its name from Latin and Greek words meaning "grave muscle weakness." This myasthenia gravis homepage contains a collection of LINKS to excellent sources of information needed by patients and families of patients to help them understand their disease, treatments and the side effects of medications. These sources are by no means the only (or even best) sources and patients should seek out others as well. NOTE: Decisions on individual treatments should always be determined by a physician. The information obtained here is for education only.

WELCOME TO NEW PATIENTS

Welcome to newly diagnosed patients or older ones who have just found this hompage. Every attempt has been made to find information on the internet that will answer your many questions and hopefully ease your fears. There are many patients who have preceeded you and can help as well. Please search the links below and when you are comfortable join our discussion areas through Patient-to-Patient Connections. If you can't find the answers to questions through the links on this homepage, chances are other patients (or even physicians) can help on-line. Daily living with myasthenia gravis is also featured on the Life With Myasthenia Homepage maintained by Donna and Amy Whittaker. Stan Way
