This is the second film in which we find
Holmes and Watson away from the foggy streets of London,
but despite the absence of their more familiar Baker Street
they are both right at home! The location: a small lonely
town in the then British Dominion of Quebec, Canada. The
Crime: a fiendish and unnatural murder! Holmes and Watson
are hot on the trail!
The Scarlet Claw is one of the few films to steer
clear and be entirely independent of Doyle's canon. You
will find nothing borrowed from the original stories here,
and although held poorly by the critics, it stands today
as one of the best in the series!

This
film takes place ENTIRELY in Canada, but is that REALLY a beautifull
Canadian marshland? NO!!
Its actually the MOORE from the set of The Hound of the Baskervilles
(1939) !!
