TATER TOURS TO US FREEDOM WALKS IN WASHINGTON D.C.
& PENNSYLVANIA, VIRGINIA & WEST VIRGINIA

OCT. 15^TH – 23^RD  

NOTE:  For those staying after the NYC trip, October 15^th will be a down day (Day of Rest) There is a year round event that the Hotel, Holiday Inn Express can transport you too. (It’s at the Arundel Mills Mall. (OR) the hotel shuttle can take you to the BWI Airport where you can catch the “Light Rail” into Baltimore for a walk.  I can make reservations for you for Oct. 14^th at the Holiday Inn Express, near the BWI Airport, which will not be included in the two segment trip.

Oct. 15th (Wed.):  FLY DAY ONLY TO BALTIMORE, MARYLAND (BWI)

Hotel accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express, BWI Airport for two nights. (410) 684-3388 Continental Breakfast and free shuttle from airport included.  For those flying in early, there is a year round event located at the Arundel Mills Mall which the hotel has a free shuttle. (About 1 ½ miles from the hotel.)                 

Oct. 16th (Thurs.) :  Drive to Lititz, Pennsylvania for year round event.  This event takes you on a tour of historic downtown Lititz, past the Moravian Church and the cemetery where General Sutter is buried.  Past Linden Hall, the first all girls boarding school, Sturgis Pretzel Factory and Wilbur Chocolate Factory.  In the afternoon, we will travel to   Harrisburg, for the CAPITOL event.  The trail goes through the State Capitol Complex and across the Susquehanna River.  A large Civil War painting is located in the State Museum which is on the trail.  Return to our hotel near Baltimore. 

Oct. 17^th – 19^th (Fri. – Sun.):  Start our short journey to D.C. with a stop in Wheaton, Maryland for the year  round event that walks through Brookside Botanical Gardens with ponds, seasonal gardens and conservatories.  Continue to the Host Hotel for the US Freedom Walks, the Holiday Inn, Arlington, Virginia for two nights. (703) 807-2000        Participate in the US Freedom Walks which include some fantastic walks! Please go to www.ava.org/clubs/usfreedomwalk to get brochure and register for the events.

On Sunday depart around 1:00 p.m. and head South to participate in the NEW year round event in Mt. Vernon.  A couple of different trails to choose from, passing the mansion where George Washington lived.  Continue to Fredericksburg, Virginia for hotel accommodations at Wingate by Wyndham. (540) 368-8000 Continental Breakfast.

Oct. 20^th (Mon.) :  Participate in the year round event in Fredericksburg that walks through the historical town and the University of Mary Washington College.  Continue in the afternoon to Richmond, Virginia and participate in this CAPITOL walk.  Walk pass the State Capitol, Governor’s Mansion and Museum of the Confederacy.  Hotel                  Accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express, (804) 934-9300 Continental Breakfast included. 

Oct. 21st (Tues.):  Drive to Charleston, West Virginia for CAPITOL walk.  This walk takes you along the riverwalk besides the Kanawha River to the State Capitol and all around the complex.  Hotel accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express (304) 345-0600.  Continental Breakfast included.

Oct. 22^nd (Wed.) :  Drive to Morgantown, West Virginia for walk.  This event starts along a riverside Rail Trail, exits through a unique shopping mall and goes through the older part of West Virginia University.  Continue back to near Baltimore, Maryland for hotel.  Accommodations at the same hotel as the beginning of the trip.  Holiday Inn Express    (410) 684-3388 Continental Breakfast included and free shuttle to the BWI Airport. 

Oct. 23^rd (Thurs.):  FLY DAY ONLY BACK TO OUR HOME DESTINATIONS!  Hope everyone enjoyed this great Tater Tour trip!
