TATER TOURS TO ALABAMA, GEORGIA, SOUTH & NORTH CAROLINA

MARCH 17TH – 26TH

Birmingham Capitol

 Traveling in the Southeast Visitors Information

Mar. 17th:  FLY DAY ONLY TO BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA!!

 (Wed.)      Hotel accommodations at the Comfort Inn in Birmingham, Alabama.

                  (205) 957-0084 Continental Breakfast included and free Shuttle Service

                   from the airport. (Early morning and evening only) A Get-acquainted meeting

                   will be held that evening.

 

Mar. 18th:  Participate in Birmingham year round event.  This walk goes through the Historic

(Thurs.)    Southside.  Continue onto Montevallo, which is just a short drive from Birmingham.

                  This picturesque small Alabama town has historic homes and churches. Goes through

                  A park that includes a waterfall and “Tingles”, humorous carvings in the trees.  Drive

                  to Montgomery for hotel accommodations at Country Inn & Suites (334) 495-3000

                  Continental Breakfast included.

 

Mar. 19th: Participate in the Montgomery Capitol Walk.  This event walks past the Capital

(Fri.)         Building, the White House of the Confederacy, several historic churches, and

                  Hank William’s gravesite. Continue onto Mobile, Alabama for a walk that goes

                  through many historic homes.  Drive a short distance to Spanish Fort, Alabama

                  for hotel accommodations for three glorious nights at the Fairfield Inn & Suites

                  (251) 370-1160 Continental Breakfast included. (Walking weekend of small towns!)

 

Mar. 20th: Drive a short distance to Point Clear for a sanctioned walk along Mobile Bay. Walk

(Sat.)         through a Civil War Cemetery and past the Grand Hotel, site of old hotel used for a

                  Hospital during the Civil War.  Afternoon, drive a short distance to Fairhope, walking

                  up and down streets of an Arts Festival that is rate in the Top 20!  Return to hotel

                       

Mar. 21st: Participate in another sanctioned walk in Spanish Fort that walks through another

(Sun.)        Historic Civil War site and cemetery.  In the afternoon, a short distance to Daphne,

                   walking past cemeteries and Historic Churches.  Return to hotel
 

 Mar. 22nd: Drive to West Point, Georgia for year round event. This walk passes an area where

(Mon.)       the Union and Confederate Forces fought after Lee’s Surrender.  Walk past well

                  Maintained and restored homes.  Continue to Atlanta, Georgia for hotel

                  Accommodations for two nights at the Country Inn & Suites (404) 658-1961

                  Continental Breakfast included.
 

Mar. 23rd: This day will be spent walking the great city of Atlanta!  So much to see! (2 walks)

(Tues.)      This walk will pass the Capital Building, Underground Atlanta, Jimmy Carter

                  Library/Museum, CNN, and Centennial Park. (possibly start the walks from hotel)

                  Return to our hotel.
 

Mar. 24th: Drive a short distance to Stone Mountain for year round event.  This walk begins in
 

(Wed.)       the small 19th Century Village, enters the Park and proceeds around the park.   Continue
 

                  onto Greenville, South Carolina for hotel accommodations at the Hampton Inn (864)
 

                  288-1200 Continental Breakfast included.

 

Mar. 25th: Participate in the Greenville year round event.  This beautiful walk goes through Falls

(Thurs.)    Park and along Reedy River and along both sides of Main St. (See if you can locate the

                  9 Bronze mice hidden along the sidewalks!)  Continue onto Raleigh, North Carolina

                  and hotel accommodations at the Fairfield Inn & Suites (919) 881-9800  Continental

                  Breakfast included
 

Mar. 26th: Participate in the Raleigh Capital walk. This walk passes through Historic Oakwood

(Fri.)         neighborhood and Oakwood Cemetery.  Walk into the State Capital, Legislative

                  Buildings, and Farmer’s Market area.  Drive back to Baltimore, Maryland (For those

                  that need to fly out of BWI Airport, hotel accommodations can be arranged for an

                  additional cost.)

$50.00 will reserve your seat on this great trip to the WARMER WEATHER!! (Non-refundable)  Does not include any airfare …..

One Payment will be due on January 15th!
