...the environment - I wrote an essay about this one.
...capital punishment - Killing someone for killing someone. Interesting. Doesn't act as a deterrent, costs considerably more than it's closest alternative (life imprisonment w/out parole), and innocent people have been executed (later vindicated, through DNA tests, I guess). This is a good site.
I agree with the Republicans on...
...abortion - I'm 100% pro-life, at every stage and in every circumstance. It's sickening how people can compromise their morals for social appeasement and sugar coat murder with, of course, the infamous "What if a penniless 13 year old girl were raped and was going to die if she had the baby?" I hate talking about abortion, because I can't think straight when it comes up, so I get enraged and literally start screaming. I usually try to stay away from this subject, but it is still very important to me. If I disagreed with the Republicans on every single issue except for this one, I would still vote Republican. (Assuming I could vote.)
...affirmative action - I wrote an essay about this one.
...exclusionary rule - I wrote about this one, too. I think it's absolutely ridiculous.
...prayer in public schools - I'm not totally sure what the issue is because I haven't figured out what the law is on public prayer, but whatever the issue is, I agree with the Republicans.
...gays in the military/the gay agenda - The homosexual lifestyle conflicts with my values. However, it's okay with me if someone chooses to live that way, as long as they don't flaunt it; then it bothers me. I am against gays in the military because during battle, soldiers should be free from sexual thoughts/tension that would impede their ability to fight. I suppose the "don't ask, don't tell" policy is a reasonable compromise.
...school vouchers - This is one context in which the phrase "freedom of choice" doesn't make me gag.
...guns - I think gun control laws should be stricter, but I wouldn't know what to do about the "if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" (how I hate that saying) factor, so I guess I swing Republican on this one.
