T.G.Dyar/SFP Associates Business Card

This is a scanned in copy of my business card. The first question most people ask is why I have a grasshopper on it.

The grasshopper, embodied in weathervanes and hanging street signs, was a traditional symbol for banks, stock brokers, commodity brokers and similar financial institutions in Colonial America. Faneuil Hall in Boston is probably the best known example of this.

Mine is from a photograph I took of the weathervane on the garage at our home in Westbrook. He's looking to the East where the sun rises to mark the dawn of each new day with all its new possibilities.

All of this, I hope, is very symbolic of the kind of work I do for my clients.

By the way our weather vane got to go to the printer with me after his picture was taken so we could color match the ink on the card to the green patina that has developed on his copper skin. Unfortunately the scan of the card doesn't really do justice to what the printer was able to achieve.
