The Julia Set is a cross-cultural group of young literate professionals tired of the same flavor-of-the-month sounds that clog the airwaves. We've brewed up something different, something classic: soulful vocals, intelligent lyrics, well-conceived and beautifully executed music, with a healthy dose of quirkiness and genuine angst borne of the frustration and tribulation of trying to find meaning in an increasingly chaotic world

The result is The Julia Set, a band who’s been described as “five parts Live, four parts Cracker and one part Jim Croce.”  The band’s debut CD ep, The Irreplaceable Luxury of Risk, was praised as "fabulous" by WXPN, the Philadelphia radio station that produces “World Café.” Other critics have called The Julia Set "compelling" and praised the band's "nifty guitarings."

Amid the critical acclaim, The Julia Set has built a loyal and large following.  The band has played major venues in Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore and environs.
