COURSE DESCRIPTION FOR
MICROSOFT POWERPOINT-INTRODUCTION
This class description basically covers all versions of PowerPoint.

PowerPoint produces slide shows, on-screen presentations,
handouts, speaker notes, slides and transparencies. Not only does PowerPoint
unleash your creativity, it is a fun and easy program to use. This class
will get you started with creating effective, informative and stunning presentations
right away. You will also explore creating a web page using PowerPoint.
The class is instructor-led with hands-on activities. Learn to:
- Start PowerPoint, identify on-screen features, and navigate
through a presentation.
- Create and edit bullet slides.
- Use PowerPoint's drawing tools to create a slide.
- Incorporate clip art and WordArt objects in a slide.
- Create and enhance organization charts and create and
edit charts by using Microsoft Graph.
- Customize the overall appearance of a presentation by
using design templates and the Slide Master.
- Run a slide show, become familiar with slide show options
and add notes to a slide.
- Preview and save a PowerPoint presentation as a Web page
and open a locally stored presentation in Internet Explorer.
LENGTH
Approximately eight hours. Recommend two four hour sessions.
PREREQUISITES
No prior experience with PowerPoint is necessary. However,
you must have a good understanding of basic Microsoft Windows, file management
and personal computers.

NECESSARY HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
- An x86-compatible PC that meets minimum hardware requirements
for Windows 95 or later or Windows NT 4.0 or later. (A Pentium 90 with
32 MB or better is recommended.)
- 500 MB of free hard-disk space. (Windows NT only: At
least 4 MB of available space in the Registry.)
- Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3
(or higher) installed.
- Either a local CD-ROM drive or access to a networked
CD-ROM drive.
- A floppy-disk drive.
- A VGA or higher display adapter. (The EGA display adapter
is not supported.)
- An installed printer driver. (Printers are not required;
however, you must have an installed printer driver to use Print Preview.)
- Microsoft mouse or compatible pointing device.
