COURSE DESCRIPTION FOR
MICROSOFT EXCEL - INTRODUCTION

This class description basically covers all versions of Excel. To request the class description and system requirements for your version of Excel,

Master all the techniques to produce accurate and professional looking worksheets. This class will introduce you to basic electronic spreadsheets, worksheets skills and generating data reports. The class is instructor-led with hands-on activities. Learn to:

  • Create a basic worksheet by entering text, values and formulas.
  • Create formulas.
  • Move and copy data.
  • Change the appearance of worksheet data by using a variety of formatting techniques.
  • Produce attractive documents with different print options and use the spell checking feature.
  • Write formulas that refer to cells on multiple worksheets.
  • Save your Excel workbook as a Web page.

LENGTH

Approximately eight hours. Recommend two four hour sessions.

PREREQUISITES

No knowledge of Excel is required, but you must have a good understanding of basic Microsoft Windows, file management and personal computers.

NECESSARY SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE

  • 32 megabytes (MB) of Random Access Memory (RAM) necessary to run Excel. You will need a minimum of 500 MB of hard-disk space available for Office 2000 after Windows 98 is installed.
  • A Pentium 90 or higher processor.
  • Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3 (or higher) installed.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Microsoft mouse or compatible pointing device.
  • A printer (optional). You must have an installed printer driver to use Print Preview.
