DESCRIPTION
Unleash the power of templates. Templates are commonly
used documents (examples include a fax cover sheet, an invoice or letterhead).
You will use Microsoft's, learn to create your own and manage your templates
for maximum efficiency. This class is instructor-led with plenty of hands-on
activities. You can also bring your own files to experiment with. Learn
to:
- Understand the templates that are available in Word,
Excel and PowerPoint.
- Customize the existing Microsoft templates.
- Create your own templates.
- Manage your personal templates.
LENGTH
One four hour session.
PREREQUISITES
Microsoft Word 2000 - Level 1,
Microsoft Excel 2000 - Introduction and Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
- Introduction or equivalent knowledge. You must also have a good understanding
of basic Microsoft Windows, file management and personal computers.

Create a brochure in Word

Design a PowerPoint presentation and save it as a template
Lab Activity 4: Manage your templates
Create a custom tab for your templates
Create a Word template and save it in your custom folder
Create an Excel template and save it in your custom folder
Create a PowerPoint template and save it in your custom folder
NECESSARY SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
- A 486-compatible PC that meets the minimum hardware requirements
for Windows 95 or later or Windows NT 4.0 or later. (A Pentium 90 with
32 megabytes of RAM or more is recommended.) You will need 600 MB of free
hard-disk space.
- A local CD-ROM drive or access to a networked CD-ROM
drive.
- A floppy-disk drive.
- A two-button mouse.
- A VGA or higher display adapter.
- An installed printer driver.
- A typical installation of Windows.
- A typical installation of Word 2000, Excel 2000 and PowerPoint
2000.
