DESCRIPTION FOR
MICROSOFT OUTLOOK - LEVEL 2
This class description basically covers all versions of Outlook.

Master Microsoft's personal information manager. Explore
all the advanced features of Outlook, including templates, folders, customization
and recording entries in the Journal. The class is instructor-led with lots
of hands-on activities. Topics include:
- Managing and arranging items by sorting, filtering and
using the Advanced Find feature; by displaying custom views; and by creating
custom forms.
- Customizing the Outlook environment by creating custom
toolbars and menu items to add to the Outlook Bar.
- Communicating with contacts by sending faxes, share contacts
with other users, automatically record items associated with contacts in
the Journal and organize contacts and notes.
- Creating and using templates and forms.
- Integrating with Office applications by importing and
exporting Office documents, creating an Office document in Outlook and
sending an Outlook message from Office applications.
- Sharing information with other Outlook users via public
folders and Net Folders and granting other Outlook users permission to
folders.
- Internet and remote mail features by accessing Internet
Explorer from Outlook, creating Outlook items in Internet Explorer, creating
messages in HTML format, adding hyperlinks and discussing Microsoft NetMeeting,
the Outlook Newsreader and remote mail options.
LENGTH
Approximately eight hours. Recommend two four hour sessions.
PREREQUISITES
Outlook - Level 1 or equivalent
knowledge. You also need a good understanding of basic Microsoft Windows,
file management and personal computers. You should also be familiar with
the Internet.

NECESSARY SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
- A 486/66-compatible PC that meets minimum hardware requirements
for Windows 95 or later or Windows NT 4.0 or later. A Pentium 90 MHz processor
with 32 MB RAM or better is recommended.
- Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3
(or higher) installed with Windows Messaging, Microsoft Fax and Quick View
turned on along with an Exchange 5.0 server. See your reference manual
for specific hardware considerations.
- A minimum of 500 megabytes (MB) of hard drive space.
(For Windows NT only, at least 4 MB of available space in the registry
is necessary.)
- A local CD-ROM drive or access to a network CD-ROM drive.
- A VGA or higher resolution video card and monitor.
- A floppy drive.
- MS Office 2000.
- A Windows 95 compatible network.
- Network interface card and network cable or other medium.
- Microsoft mouse or compatible pointing device.
- A printer (optional).
