DESCRIPTION FOR
MICROSOFT WORD-ADVANCED
This class description basically covers all versions of Word.

Become a Word power user! Jazz up your documents with graphics
and even learn how to create documents as intranet web pages. You will also
master working with large documents and sharing documents. It is instructor-led
with hands-on activities. Topics include:
- Advanced techniques for working with styles.
- Creating and using templates and forms.
- Drawing in a document and using clip art and WordArt.
- Managing long documents by adding a table of contents,
an index, bookmarks, cross-references, odd and even headers and footers
and by adjusting margins for document binding.
- Managing document changes by creating different versions
of a document, tracking document changes, adding comments and accepting
or rejecting document changes.
- Preparing a document for an intranet by inserting hyperlinks,
sound, a movie clip and scrolling text into a web page.
LENGTH
Approximately eight hours. Recommend two four hour sessions.
PREREQUISITES
You need to understand the basic and intermediate features
of Word (Levels 1 and 2). Specifically, you should be proficient with styles,
templates, and macros. You must also have a good understanding of basic
Microsoft Windows, file management and personal computers.

NECESSARY SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
- A Pentium 75 PC with 16 MB of RAM. (We recommend a Pentium
133 or faster with 32 MB or more.)
- 600 MB of free hard-disk space. For optimal performance,
we recommend an additional 100 MB of free hard-disk space for user graphics
and temporary image caches.
- A local CD-ROM drive or access to a networked CD-ROM.
- A floppy-disk drive.
- A two-button mouse, an IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing
device.
- A VGA or higher resolution monitor; a Super VGA is recommended.
(The EGA display adapter is not supported.)
- An installed printer driver. (Printers are not required;
however, you must have an installed printer driver to use Print Preview.)
- An Internet connection with access to the World Wide
Web.
- Microsoft Windows 95 (or later) operating system, Microsoft
Windows NT Workstation operating system version 4.0 with Service Pack 3
(or later) installed. If you are running Windows NT, make sure that you
have at least 4 MB of free Registry space.
- A full installation of Microsoft Office 2000 Premium
Edition.
