What's My Beef!
Stress is bad.
Everyone needs a release. I've chosen not to shoot at passing cars--I'm going
to put my beef's on the web. Hopefully, somebody will see these and their lives
will be enriched by the information they find here.
Bowling Brook Apartments. This is the apartment complex I lived in. It's in Laurel, Maryland. There is no sound protection between the floors! If you want to live in relative peace and quite, AVOID BOWLING BROOK APARTMENTS! And I’m not the only one that believes this. This BEEF page is apparently a popular page with the victims of the Bowling Brook apartment complex. I received more email from UNSATISFIED residents of this apartment complex. Click here to hear our stories.
Jillian's at Arundel Mills. I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at this place. AND I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE! I received three emails from other UNSATISFIED customers of Jillian’s and have added them to my rant (click here to see the emails). This may be a nice, though expensive, place to play games and drink beer but AVOID THE FOOD! It may kill you. And now they want a COVER to get in to play games?!? Sorry Jillian, you lost my business. Click here to find out why.
Magnetic Levitation
Train in MD/DC. The State and
Federal government wants to put a magnetic levitation
train through my neighborhood.
Gee, thanks guys. It will
take 10 years to build and cost over a billion dollars. That’s over $1,000,000,000. And they say it will make enough money
from tourists to be profitable. I
swear I wish I could audit these people.
GAO should get off their asses and audit this thing. (I have some
professional beefs with GAO that I won’t be getting into here. Let’s just say they aren’t the most
independent audit organization in the government. “Shills for contractors” is a
phrase that comes to mind.) For
those that are interested, here is a report I
got from the Project Manager for the DC MAGLEV project. It’s a little less than a meg in
size. By the way, I asked the
manager for it at a local meeting and he said he’d provide it if I contacted
him via email. I contacted him
twice over a month and a half and twice I was ignored. Then on 7 May, I got an email from
Governor Glendening’s office responding to something I sent him about the
train. The Governor’s office’s
letter was courtesy copied to the project manager. Lo and behold!
The next day, the 8th of May, the project manager emails me
the report! Coincidence? Yea, right.
UPDATE: Looks like there’s some good news on
this front, at least for my neighborhood.
The path that was to pass through my neighborhood is now out of
consideration. The choice is now
between a path that parallel’s AMTRAC and a “NO-BUILD” option. Hey, maybe somebody actually looked at
the cost of this thing and the estimated ridership and realized it’s a money
pit like this state has never seen before. I’m rooting for the “NO-BUILD” option. I see real potential for a significant
increase in state taxes to pay for this boondoggle.
Ourisman Chrysler Plymouth Jeep. I've met some arrogant car dealers in my time but these guys just beat them all. They just pulled the bait and switch routine on a friend of mine. And they did it like it was standard operating procedure. I sure as hell wouldn't buy anything from them after the fiasco they just put us through. If you read why, I'm sure you'll think twice yourself. Click here to find out why.
Credit Report Agencies. I just got my credit report from the big three agencies. These companies are simply clueless. They should be put out of business. The mistakes they made are embarrassingly stupid. When I become President, I’m going to federalize the function. Click here to find out why.
There are much more beefs to come. If you have a response to any of the beefs I talk about or want to share your own beefs, please email me. We can share in the misery. I can be found at: tompatrob@prodigy.net.
