Mountain View: Hurricane Ridge, Olympic NP

Mule
deer graze before the Olympic Mountains, 1996
I
don't even think a panaramic camera will be able to capture the
incredible mountain view from the top of Hurricane Ridge in Olympic
National Park. Upon this open plain, you can scan an entire 180
degrees and see nothing but snow-capped mountains and deep valleys.
All I could think of as I stood there was America the Beautiful
and its "purple mountain majesty". This must be where
they got it from! Even though none of the mountains are higher
than 8000 feet in elevation, the sheer number of peaks crammed
into this small peninsula is what makes it so impressive. You're
also guaranteed to see numerous mule deer grazing along the plain
who are totally oblivious of all human activity around them.
Oh, and don't forget your lunch...the chipmunks are always hungry!
