Drive: Seward Highway, Kenai Peninsula, Alaska

Beluga
Point, 1998
Try
NOT to be in the driver's seat when taking this route from Anchorage
to Seward, otherwise you may cause an accident. The natural scenery
is beyond description. Jagged, snow-capped peaks rise from both
sides of Turnagain Arm, as you drive along the shores of this
narrow waterway. If you're lucky, you may even see some whales
breaching the waters along side you. If not, you're sure to see
plenty of eagles soaring above you, mountain goats clinging to
the sides of the cliffs, and moose grazing in the wetlands along
the side of the road. If you are driving, make sure it's in your
favorite car,
and you take the time to stop at some of the many turnouts along
the way, so you can soak it all in!
