The 1st thing I recommend is getting the MOD program running and working with the CDs. Have the CDs registered, etc. In order to run the Mitchell on Demand for Transmissions off your hard drive you have to 1st copy EACH CD to the harddrive. Use the Windows Explorer make a NEW folder for each CD. Example: make a C:\MODT1, C:\MODT2, C:\MODT3, and C:\MODT4. Once the folders are made insert the MOD Trans Disk1 in your CD drive. Highlight the CD drive and then press Ctrl-A to mark all the files with the Explorer. Next with the files all highlighted press Ctrl-C. Now Highlight the folder C:\MODT1. Next press Ctrl-V to paste all the cd files to the folder. In other words copy all the contents of the Trans1 CD to the C:\MODT1 folder. Continue this till you have all the CDs copied to the hard drive.

Now before you do anything else make a backup copy of the C:\Mitchell\Repair\ODTrans\Datascr.ini file. In order for MOD for Trans to KNOW that the CDs are copied to the Hard Drive you must edit the C:\Mitchell\Repair\ODTrans\Datascr.ini file. Use the Windows Explorer to find this file then double click it and change all the paths that dicet the MOD program to your CD rom drive. Below is a copy of my Datascr.ini file.

Notice that the path C:\modt1 through C:\Modt4 are the letters I changed. Once you have this file edited and saved you are set. It takes a little time to copy the CDs but once they arei nstalled it runs Smokin fast.

One last note. Each time you get updated CDs you have to register them. The registering process wipes out the Datascr.ini file. So once you get the updates register it, them make sure it works. The make a back up the Datascr.ini file and edit it. Write down what you do, or print the file after you edit it, and it becomes quite easy.

On my last update the last time I registered my MOD for Transmissions it, wouldn't work. The program would not run after I registered. What I did to correct the problem was I deleted the C:\Mitchell\Repair\ODTrans\Datascr.ini file all together. Then I registered the new CDs again. It created a new C:\Mitchell\Repair\ODTrans\Datascr.ini file and the program worked fine. I then edited the C:\Mitchell\Repair\ODTrans\Datascr.ini file and substituted my hard drive path instead of the CD path and it worked fine.

I have MOD the Full Program also running on my Hard Drive. I also have the MOD Parts and Estimating program running on my Hard Drive.

I also have the ATSG CD copied to my Hard Drive.
