1/350th scale Titanic

Here is some pr-production parts assembled and painted....you can see the difference from the kit compas tower and the Gold Medal Models photo etch brass part...pretty neeto eh?

Here is one of the decks....as you can see the inside walls are painted black for bleed through and the really cool after market PHOTO ETCH BRASS window frames.

Moore of the Brass window frames!

A hap hazard view of how the optics work as the porthole passenger windows....thats just some towls...kinda looks like water. The optics are as long as the thickness of the plastic of the hull itself. two tubes back to back will light up the entire ship.

shhhhh....Don't tell anyone but it was an AWFUL resin re-cast...BUT! it was a gift from a dear friend and I always wanted to build this kit! it had thousands of air HOLES and really bad seems that pretty much called for alot of WORK! and with a kit like this one...the more you sand..the more holes you find...I would not have been able to do this project wihout the super glue and baking soda trick, lots of BONDO'S fine glazing putty and some LUCK!
This was a figure project that had a lot MORE of a filling, sanding and re-work than PAINTING.

This is my first SERIOUS figure....funny I had to choose such a difficult project. Its not a prize winner by no means but I'm alot happier with it than I thought I would be.
