This is the 1958 XP-700 show car from which the '61 Corvette got its restyled rear end.
This is the 1961 Promotional model that was built by SMP/AMT. I finally obtained one (it wasn't cheap - $300!). They cam in several colors, but Fawn Beige wasn't one of them. Mine is white and pictured below:
