Scale Model Buildings By Mark Doyon
The pictures of the building below are of a warehouse in O scale that Mike Tylick asked me to do for him. It is a Gloor-Craft Model Kit no. 603 it toke me a little over 2 mouths to build, about 100 hours. The kit is all wood except for the metal castings on the dock and windows. The walls were painted in Tester Spray can Desert Sand #1963 and the doors are Dark Tan #1942. The windows are just a green that I had in water base. The Kit itself on a Scale of 1-10 was about 8 to complete. The instructions were easy to follow. The figures on the dock I ordered from Walthers.com. The figures were all prepainted I then repainted them because they were all dressed blue, Walthers Part # 401-42306, p. 187 Walthers 2004 Big Trains Reference O scale, $9.95,. ------------------------------------- Updates and NEW PHOTOS on Pages 5 & 6 - 9 AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE. -------------I have added new links to Historicrail.com and Rails USA.com on pages below please take the time check them out they have a lot of great selection of Trains - Railroads - History - Videos - Model Kits - Calendars & More plus links to great looking layouts ----- Thanks for taking your time to scan my pages and come back soon.

I used weathering powders on the building mostly dirty brown around the bottom and on the sides also just a little rust color in some places like the vent stack on the side wall and roof. The roofing paper was one sheet of black craft paper 8"x11" then it was weatherd with acrylic paint, applying it by dry brushing it on. Then it was cut into strips of 9/16" and then glued down using white glue. ------If you are looking for my article on Three dimensional effect of the Redwing Building click page 9 at the bottom of this page.
