| The Dark Magi Guild Master, Magus, wants to do whatever it takes to get his Guild Master spirit back from Giselle. It was his idea to bring Animora back and since that failed attempt, he has hired an assassin to try to kill Genevieve. |

| Darrow is a member of the First, a race of godlike beings, and was sent to Ciress to monitor Giselle on behalf of House Sinister. A one time lover of Ingra, the leader of Sinister, and then of Animora, when the latter was brought back by the Guild Masters he chose to change his allegiance and support Animora. |

| Animora is also one of the godlike First and 300 years ago was sealed away by the main Guild Masters until she was freed again to be sent against Giselle for stealing the present day Guild Master's spirits. Animora turned on those who set her free and after a second battle with Giselle temporarily took over Giselle's mind. She was later cast out by Ingra and sent back to Elysia, the home world of the first. |
