This indenture made the fifth day of June one thousand seven hundredand eighty four between Absalon Harwood of Chatham County in the state
of North Carolina planter of the one part and William Yeats of the county
of Wake and state aforesaid planter of the other part....that the said Absalon
Harwood for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds proclamation
money of the state aforesaid to him in hand paid by the said William Yeats
at or before the unsealing hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge
myself ...and paid..the said Absalon Harwood hath granted bargained and sold
...and confirmed and by the present doth grant bargain and sell ....unto the said
William Yeats his heirs and assigns forever one tract of land or parcel of land
lying in the County of Wake on the Indian Branch Waters of New Hope.
Beginning at ..William Harwood line thence south two hundred and sixty two
poles to an Oak on Davis’s line thence west three hundred poles.....containing
four hundred and ninety acres to have and to hold the said quantity of land in
the County aforesaid.........more aforesaid assigned and heirs hitherto.
