Little A'Le'Inn Area 51:

The Little A'Le'Inn in located in Rachel NV. Rachel has a population of about 98 people. It even has a road sign telling you "Next Gas 110 Miles." The people of that town are interesting. Have you ever watched the show called Northern Exposure? It'll give you a feel for the kind of atmosphere that is present around town. Oh, and it's true, they do have great food at the Little A'Le'Inn.

We had reserved a room at the Little A'Le'Inn for three days, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. But we had arrived Tuesday night. This meant we would be spending a night out in the desert. Around 9:30pm we set up camp off of the ET Highway. It gets cold in the desert at night, very cold. The weather conditions weren't good. Lots of cloud cover with thunderstorm activity. We could see lightening on either side of us. Every so often the cloud cover broke and a few stars could be seen.

Our camp, the day after

Since we had been doing a ton of driving and were incredibly tired we fell asleep early. Sleeping in a cold Chevy Blazer is not very comfortable. In fact, I believe that it was the worst sleep of my life. I wonder if it had something to do with the fact that I was only a few miles away from America's favorite secret air base? Nah!
