In the early 90’s a vision of three ancient men appeared before me for a brief moment. One, The Prophet, had a message in his robe that I painted separately. What astounded me was the age and appearance of these figures. Their skin was translucent and incredibly wrinkled. They seemed to glide before me in the position of the painting.

Symbolism

Three: - Unlies all aspects of creation; mind, body and spirit - birth, life and death, past present and future. The trinity occurs in many religions, symbolizing unity in diversity.

Red Robe: - of worldy power, masculinity and activity. Symbolizing the life-force as expressed through the animal world, red is the energy coursing through the body. To the Chinese red represents good luck, to the Christians it denotes Christ’s passion.

Blue (eyes): - Blue is the hue of intellect, peace and contemplation. It represents water, coolness and symbolizes the sky, infinity, the emptiness from which existence arises and to which it returns.

Halos: - Divine radiance, wisdom of the gods and emanation of life force from the head.
