Tony was born in northern Utah and raised in the small town of Smithfield, moving to Salt Lake City in 1981 where he attended the University of Utah. In 1987, Tony moved to Los Angeles and began his job with the personnel department of the Directors Guild of America, later working as assistant theater manager and assistant credits administrator.
In May of 1989, Tony left the DGA and went to work for Columbia/TriStar Motion Picture Group (now Sony Pictures Entertainment) as an assistant to the President and Executive Vice President of Marketing. In November of 1990, he changed jobs within the company, becoming the assistant to the Executive Vice President of Publicity, a position he held until November of 2000.
During his ten years in publicity, Tony worked on a number of very successful films: "Sleepless in Seattle," "Basic Instinct," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "Air Force One," "Men in Black," "As Good As It Gets," "My Best Friend's Wedding," "Sense and Sensibility," "Bugsy," "Hook," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Stuart Little," "Philadelphia," "The Mask of Zorro," "Jumanji" and many others.
After leaving Sony, Tony took a year off to relax. In March of 2002, he rejoined the studio system, going to work in publicity at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, working on such films as: "Die Another Day," "Igby Goes Down," "Uptown Girl," "Jeepers Creepers 2," among others.
Tony currently works in the Home Entertainment Department of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
