Outdoorsy Girl is a
business with a mission... to celebrate the joy of nature through
products, gifts and jewelry and then return a portion of the proceeds to
charitable organizations.
As a member of the
Indian Arts and
Crafts Association,
which is dedicated
to
promoting, preserving and protecting the arts
and cultures of the American Indian, we focus on
buying directly from artists where they live and work, usually on the
reservation. We support Indian arts and know how important the
business is to the families we trade with. We guarantee
authenticity.
I started Outdoorsy
Girl as an outgrowth of our business for walkers, hikers and runners -
Volks-Ware. Interestingly, as
we toured the US selling at walking and running events, what our women
customers were drawn to most were our jewelry and gift items... high
quality, unusual and low priced. So, why not have a site devoted solely to
these special items?
As a woman who spent
childhood summers in the redwoods of California's Santa Cruz Mountains,
who has hiked and toured the natural beauty of Europe's woods and lakes,
walked the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and now marvels at each sunset on
the Arizona Desert, I label myself an "Outdoorsy Girl."
