10 Strand Necklace

Navajo weaver and jewelry artist, Lena Cowboy, from Hard Rock, AZ on the Navajo Reservation, made this beautiful 10 strand necklace. From clasp to hook, it measures 23 inches. You can twist it for a more rope-like effect if you would like. The fittings are sterling and the ends are finished in traditional brown shell. The highlight beads are turquoise, shell, and serpentine. The shiny orange-red coral beads are just gorgeous. A very rich color. This impressive necklace was purchased directly from the artist.

I purchased this beautiful necklace from and elderly Navajo woman from Navajo, AZ (reservation near Sanders).  She made this beautiful turquoise and fetish type bird three strand necklace. It measures 30 inches. The turquoise is nicely matched. The spacers are shell, for a very traditional look. The birds are mother of pearl/shell and are in white and yellow tones. There is no clasp. The back is finished with dark shell in the traditional manner. If you love birds, this is the necklace for you!

This is a fantastic folk art jewelry set celebrating the Navajo sheep.
It was made by Navajo weaver Lena Cowboy of Hard Rock on the Navajo Nation. It measures 27 inches long. The earrings measure 1.5 inches long not including the hooks. They are for pierced ears. The necklace closes with a hook closure.

Lena made this necklace with coral, shell, serpentine and turquoise. It is
a great piece of Navajo folk art.

Exquisite inlaid sterling silver horse head pendants from Navajo silversmith, Calvin Begay.  His designs and work have won many awards, including Best of Show in the Gallup Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial.

You can identify a piece by Calvin by looking at the precision of the inlay and the silver work. The beauty of his work has earned him feature treatment in Southwest Art Magazine and Arizona Highways Magazine.

These horse heads are signed Calvin Begay - Sterling on the back.
Each horse is crafted with Navajo designs showing the mesas and buttes of the Navajo Nation. They measure approx 1.5 inches long including the bail and approx. one inch wide. They are a nice heavy weight sterling. All gemstones are natural and real. Opal is probably lab made. Only one of a kind available.
