About this design:
Milagros, the Spanish word for
miracles, are tiny offerings most typically made of silver and
fashioned into the shapes of body parts, animals, people,
plants, domestic articles and means of transportation. These
miniatures are offered to a saint to give thanks. A milagro
commemorates a prayer answered, such as a
child cured of an illness, a safe journey, a good crop or a
catastrophe averted.
Milagros are part of an ancient folk custom that transcends the
centuries and the boundaries of diverse cultures. The practice
of offering, to a diety, miniature items that in some way
symbolize ones concerns,
seems to be universal and timeless. The uses and shapes of these
tiny body parts, animal and human figures are virtually
unchanged from the classic period in Greece to the present day
in Latin America where
milagros are still part of folk traditions.

Each piece of Sabaku clothing is
carefully dyed to achieve its rich color
and softness. Subtle shading and size
differences are to be expected,
particularly in our special effects dyes
as each shirt is an individual. Our
garments are screen printed and
therefore should never be dry cleaned.
We recommend our shirts be washed in
cold water with liquid detergent and
tumble dried on low. Please do not use
bleach or spot removers. The beautiful
artwork printed on the shirts will be
damaged if it is ironed. For best
results, turn the shirts inside out for
washing.
