5. Charles Jesse⁴ Holloway (John³, James², Father of James¹) was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL April 2, 1872. Charles died June 12, 1913 at 41 years of age.

He married Carrie Jane Butler in Venice, Pike Co., IL, 1896. Carrie was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL December 1, 1872. Carrie was the daughter of Zacharia Taylor Butler and Susan Lane. Carrie died April 15, 1939 at 66 years of age.

Charles Jesse Holloway and Carrie Jane Butler had the following children:

+ 6 i. Alva Clyde⁵ Holloway was born October 10, 1896.

7 ii. Josephine May Holloway was born in Pearl, Pike County, IL January 20, 1898.

8 iii. Blanche Madeline Holloway was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL May 6, 1899. Blanche died June 7, 1984 at 85 years of age. She married Roy Earl Johnson in Venice, Pike Co., IL, November 22, 1924. Roy was born October 13, 1892. Roy was the son of Edward Purnell Castle Johnson and Emily Louiza Buchanan. Roy died June 19, 1969 at 76 years of age. 9 iv. Martha Susan Holloway (still alive).

10 v. Dorothy Ellen Holloway (still alive).

11 vi. John William Holloway was born March 1, 1904. John died February 10, 1907 at 2 years of age.

12 vii. Clarence Jessie Holloway was born May 18, 1906. Clarence died December 17, 1907 at 1 year of age.

13 viii. Taylor Kermit Holloway was born August 16, 1911. Taylor died March 1969 at 57 years of age.

14 ix. Infant Holloway was born January 1913. Infant died January 27, 1913 at less than one year of age.
