He married Eleanor Goodin. Eleanor was born in MO 10 October 1818. Eleanor was the daughter of
Robert Hardin Goodin and Susannah B. McClintock.
Asa Douglas Cooper and Eleanor Goodin had the following child:

Mary Elizabeth2 Cooper was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL January 1839.
Mary died September 11, 1906 at 67 years of age. She married William Erastus Butler in Pittsfield, Pike
County, IL, March 13, 1863. William was born in Martinsburg Twp., Pike Co., IL March 1, 1837. William was the son of
William Andrew Butler Jr. and Harriet Chandler. William died January 17, 1917 at 79 years of age. His body was
interred January 10, 1917 in Bismarck, St. Francois Co, MO. (See William Erastus Butler for the
continuation of this line.)
