9. Lafayette⁴ Roberts (David³, David², David¹) was born in Delaware Co., OH 3 November 1828. Lafayette died 14 January 1888 in Martinsburg Twp., Pike Co., IL, at 59 years of age.

He married Nancy Catherine Galloway in Venice, Pike Co., IL, 3 February 1854. Nancy was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL 29 November 1836. Nancy was the daughter of James B. Galloway and Ursula A. Lewis. Nancy died 13 March 1907 in Pleasant Hill, Pike Co., IL, at 70 years of age.

Lafayette Roberts and Nancy Catherine Galloway had the following children:

17 i. Olive⁵ Roberts was born 23 March 1855. Olive died 13 April 1914 at 59 years of age. She married Male Browning.

18 ii. William Henry Roberts was born 19 November 1856. William died 31 January 1911 at 54 years of age.

19 iii. Francis Albert Roberts was born 14 March 1858. Francis died 2 November 1922 at 64 years of age.

20 iv. Louisa Jane Roberts was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL 20 January 1860. Louisa died April 1940 in Nebo, Pike Co., IL, at 80 years of age. She married Francis Marion Bowman 1890. Francis was born in Havana, IL 28 May 1841. Francis was the son of John Bowman and Nancy Webb. Francis died 15 October 1908 in Pleasant Hill, Pike Co., IL, at 67 years of age. 21 v. James Roberts was born 28 February 1861. James died 8 February 1935 at 73 years of age.

22 vi. Laura Lucinda Roberts was born in Pleasant Hill, Pike Co., IL 4 January 1864. Laura died 16 June 1957 in Jersey Co., IL, at 93 years of age. She married Alford James Wallace in Venice, Pike Co., IL, 3 February 1881.

23 vii. Mary Elizabeth Roberts was born 5 September 1865. Mary died 15 November 1955 at 90 years of age.

24 viii. Sarah Alma Roberts was born 23 May 1867. Sarah died 15 May 1955 at 87 years of age.

25 ix. Orilla Roberts was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL 29 September 1868. Orilla died 17 April 1904 in Venice, Pike Co., IL, at 35 years of age. Her body was interred 19 April 1904 in Venice, Pike Co., IL. She married Cornelius William Butler in Venice, Pike Co., IL, 1898. Cornelius was born in Venice, Pike Co., IL Aug, 1870. Cornelius was the son of Stephan D. Butler and Barbara Ellen Sullivan. Cornelius died Jun, 1956 in Venice, Pike Co., IL, at 85 years of age. His body was interred Jun, 1956 in Venice, Pike Co., IL. 26 x. John S. Roberts was born 3 October 1870. John died 24 November 1957 at 87 years of age.

27 xi. Lafayette Roberts was born 11 August 1872. Lafayette died 17 October 1957 at 85 years of age.

28 xii. Ira H. Roberts was born 15 August 1874. Ira died 6 September 1943 at 69 years of age.

29 xiii. Lewis E. Roberts was born 10 January 1877. Lewis died 30 July 1953 at 76 years of age.

30 xiv. Daisy M. Roberts was born 27 March 1879. Daisy died 24 November 1976 at 97 years of age. She married Marion Franklin Autrey 13 March 1897. Marion was born 5 June 1872.
