Here's a quick report on the NHRC activities of June 19th:

The morning launch was well attended with over 20 vehicles and lots of
kids, winds were relatively light for Houston, the temperature hot and
humid. Among the notable launches were Jon Mitchell's Stealth and David
Bacque's two stage mach buster, Wow.

The meeting that followed in the afternoon started with door prizes: a
Quest Micro Max starter set, and Estes Trans Wing glider, and a Quest
controller were given away. I recognition of the Bomber field work day,
one of the members that worked won a large Dr. Rocket motor casing.
Also, 5 ten dollar gift certificates were given away to winners of last
month's V-2 contest. Get your V-2's ready for next year!

President Tom Lanier discussed recent competition activity from Dallas
where the NHRC was narrowly defeated for the Texas Championship Trophy.
Next months Space Shot Fun launch was also discussed. bring any replicas
of manned launch vehicles out fro the July 17th launch in celebration on
the 30th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. We will attempt to
have a sequential launch as well as a mass launch. We are also looking
foreword to the Ballunar festival to be held the last week in August.
Get your large rockets ready for that one!

7 new members were introduced to the 25 or so attending members, and a
vote was taken to release funds to pay for a NHRC banner to be displayed
at contest and demo events, as well as to release funds for new high
power equipment. Finally, a plan to more formalize our launches by using
club equipment, stored at the JSC site, and used to organize the
launches instead of everyone using their own equipment. This would help
to keep everyone informed of what is about to happen. Was that an "H"
motor that just took off while my head was in the range box?  This would
require the users to CLEAN the equipment, it will be discussed more at
the next meeting.
