Richard's Random Ramblings home page

This site contains poetry about love, romance , relationships, a photo gallery and more. I'm certain you will find at least one topic area of interest from the variety. I have received nice comments about the poetry and background images on those pages. Please write to me if you are so inclined using the link at the bottom of each page.

The winemaker - me!About Richard the winemaker (me): "...soft and pleasant, unpretentious, with distinctive character and a pleasing finish."

I have experience with a commercial winery and vineyard here in Pennsylvania where I am the vineyard manager. A vineyard manager does much of the work of pruning, spraying, thinning, ordering materials, hiring additional help during peak periods and everything else that needs to be done. Since I am so intensely involved with the vines, I also reserve some grapes to make wine. This is to determine the ultimate quality of the fruit produced and is kept for personal purposes.

Great wine is best enjoyed with candlelight, a nice evening, and with someone to cuddle and kiss. Happily I finally found someone who is pretty, extremely nice, thoughtful, caring, exciting, sexy and wonderful. Thank you for entring my life Mary! Lets continue to expand our understanding of each other.

There is one major fault I have - I'm terminally blonde. In the summer my hair is almost white from the sun after many days in the vineyard (one might say I am extremely blonde!) Trying to live up to the expectations of blondes can be difficult at times but we do have a reputation to maintain! On top of all that, as my age increases, I could also be classified as having blonde senior moments.

One might consider the statement in the right column a personal view of mine since it seems to fit my personality model so well.

When I first read "People In Our Lives" I was impressed by the thought so I added the last two sections as my contribution. In light of the unrest, violence and lack of caring this seems very appropriate if we can acquire a higher awareness of the good we can be remembered for instead of the material possessions we may have acquired in this unknown period of life we have here.

People In Our Lives II

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to new understanding
with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints in our hearts,
and we are never the same.

Some people imprint a profound positive impact in our lives
even if we do not understand or believe it at the time.
From some we have learned a valuable lesson or acquired
an insight leading us to where we now are or where we may soon be.

Consider the benefits of saying "Thank you my friend"
before they can no longer hear your words.
Share a smile, a hug, kiss or intimate moment soon
while it still is possible and can be relished in life.

Bentley and MaryAnn Thanksgiving 2004Speaking of someone in my life, I have been blessed to spend part of my life with Bentley, a sweet wonderful Bernese Mountain Dog. This picture of Bentley and my daughter was from Thanksgiving 2004 when he was only 11 months old. Now in December 2006 he is 115 pounds and as high as her when he stands. For a large dog he is unusually gentle and great with people, even young children. The only hazard he seems to present is not seeing him on the ground in low light since he is predominately black. Unfortunately I am no longer at the house and I miss him so much. Occasionally I do visit him though and am always met with a great deal of enthusiasm, sparkling eyes, and much tail wagging.
