WHEN DID WE MEET?
Sometimes I wonder when we really did meet.
Was it that first conversation. . .
the mere friendly words shared,
or when those words turned to support?
Distance mattered not, nor appearance or age.
So far apart and still we touched.
Somehow, someway we became close. . .
as that concern turned to caring
and we neared each other in spirit.
When we first touched with feelings . . .
somewhere along that path . . .
we took each other's hand.
Side by side, hand in hand,
we walked and we shared.
Yet still apart in distance, then our hearts touched.
Oh how I remember that time when . . .
those first three words "I Love You" were said
with a moment of wonder, then acceptance!
Filled with meaning and commitment
the depth unknown to us then . . .
It was then our hearts and spirits truly joined.
Perhaps one could say we have met often. . .
as friends, with support, then caring, and ultimately in love.
Still now the feelings grow as we meet each time . . .
as we join in our mind, in heart, in spirit, and in body.
A uniting of all components so essential . . .
That is LOVE!
