I was an avid horse racing fan for years and went to the track as often as possible.
Although I don't do as much wagering now because it seems to me the computer enthusiasts have lowered the odds, I still go sometimes just to watch those wonderful animals run. .In my opinion one of the greatest horses to ever run a track was a New Zealand thoroughbred by the name of:
Phar Lap
who lived and ran in Australia during the late 1920's and early 30's. If you get the chance, check into it. I won't tell you how this true champion's story ends, but I will say it's worth researching.Below are a couple of particulary good web links about Phar Lap:
