The most interesting thing about maintaining a favorite film list is what it tells you about yourself as time passes. You find you like some films you had previously dismissed while some films you thought great now look unredeemingly hokey. Of course the films themselves don't change. You change and the world around you changes. So my list has provided me with a barometer of my aesthetic tastes and social values. Movies are good for this because they cover nearly every subject and take on nearly every form imaginable.

Needless to say, I heartily recommend my favorite 100 movies to any cinephiles out there willing to see and hear. Aside from separating my top 10, it would be useless to put them in ranked order since that order would be different on any given day. And many films that did not make this list could have easily on another day. I list them alphabetically with their dates of release, countries of origin, and director.
