Maddening, incoherent, outrageous, fever-pitched, romantic, ridiculous, expressionistic, fearless, and astounding. I really liked this love-it-or-hate-it film about a wealthy writer who gives up everything when a long-lost sister (or is she?) comes out of the woodwork.  No match for the intensity of Carax's MAUVAIS SANG, but more consistent and yes, even more beautiful, than LES AMANTS DU PONT-NEUF.
